About Our Surety Bond Agency

I am the co-owner and Principal of Schmalz & Associates Surety Bonds.  I help contractors of all sizes obtain surety bonds and grow their surety capacity.  I was previously with Merchants Bonding Company for 15 years, a top 15 writer of surety in the U.S.  I held various underwriting positions in IA, CO and TX.  I graduated from Drake University in 2002 with a BSBA in Finance.  I earned my Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) in 2007.  And I am a native of Iowa but I’m proud to call Texas home now!

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Eric, and our daughter, Hailey.  And playing with our two dogs, Rowdy and Cookie.  I also enjoy lifting weights, reading and baking.
